Living Waters

As I was watering the plants and thinking about how nice my bright red chilies were on the one hand, and on the other what a pity one plant was dry with dying brown leaves cause it has missed a couple of days of watering, this thought came to mind...

The plants love the water. They need the water. The water is the very source of life for them and without it, they die. In Jesus is the Water of Life, the fountain of life, the River that flows from our innermost being. We’re invited to come and drink freely of the Water of Life and resound that invitation (Rev 22:17).

Our life, blessing, wellbeing and survival depends on that water of life that comes through being connected to Jesus and ultimately, the fullness of God, Father (Daddy), Jesus (Lover of our souls) and Holy Spirit (the breath of God). God has a purpose that is to flourish in our lives, just like the plants, some produce fruit to eat, some beautiful flowers that reflect the Glory of God and a fragrant aroma that delights the soul.

We must remain in Him, connected to the Vine, drinking daily of that life giving water and basking in the light of His presence. In this, we will grow, be fruitful and reflect His Glory.
